LITTLE LAKE PROJECT

The LPA and the DNR have partnered for a restoration project on Little Storm Lake.  The LPA successfully applied for and received a $200,000 grant from the Watershed Improvement Review Board.  The DNR has matched this with $200,000 for the project.  Goals of the project are to reduce the sediment movement into Storm Lake from Little Storm, to reduce the rough fish population in Little Storm, and to periodically pump the water out of Little Storm to allow for consolidation of the sediment.  Ducks Unlimited has been awarded a contract not to exceed $60,000 for engineering and design services.  Following the engineering work, the project will be bid with construction expected late in 2010.
